Gift of life has already make a big impact on my life in a short period of time. Gift of Life Founder & CEO, Mr. Jay Feinberg spoke at my high school graduation as an alumni of SRDS. During this time, my 20 year brother, Leandro was finishing up treatment of intense chemotherapy and full body radiation. His Leukemia Cancer had relapased after 10 years in "remission" in early April of 2016. After his treatment was finished, doctors told my family that his last chance at life was a bone marrow transplant. Sibling were a 25% chance of being a match, and I was apart of that 25%! Through a simple cheek swab I found out that I could help save his life. I went through the process of donationing my bone marrow on June 2, 2016. Leandro spent weeks in the hospital recovering and now spends his time at home with only weekly hospital visits.
