Gift of Life and Univsersity of Delaware Hillel are excited to team up to swab everyone!

Gift of Life is a public, not-for-profit, bone marrow registry headquarted in Boca Raton, FL. They work to facilitate bone marrow transplants for blood cancer patients across the world- over 3,600 lives have been saved since their inception as a result of the work they do.

Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. The lifetime probability to receiving a blood stem cell transplant is 1 in 200. 80% of all donations are blood stem cell, while the 20% of bone marrow donations are done for our pediatric patients.

We encourage you to join the registry! Joining is as simple as pressing the "Get Swabbed" button, filling out a quick questionnaire, and requesting a kit to be sent directly to your home address. Once delivered, you will swab the insides of your cheek and send it back to the Gift of Life office with the included pre-paid envelope. 

You will only be asked to donate if you are a perfect match for a patient. Matches are confimed by looking at a patient and a donors tissue type which is completely inherited. 

If called upon to donate, you will have the miraculous opportunity to save a life!
